Matthew Donald Hague...Is a 2004 graduate of Kentwood High School in Covington, WA...Spent three years playing baseball at the University of Washington, where he hit .353 with 49 RBI as a junior in 2007, .381 with 45 RBI as a sophomore and .419 with 34 RBI as a freshman...Also played one year at Oklahoma State University and hit .360 with 18 doubles, 12 home runs and 57 RBI in 62 games...Produced a .299 batting average, two homers and 19 RBI for Falmouth in the Cape Cod League in the summer of 2007...Signed by Pirates scout Matt Bimeal.

2014

Appeared in three games for the Pirates, his 2nd season with big league action...Spent much of his season with Indinapolis (AAA) in the Pirate system, posting 14 home runs in just 93 games... Led the club in both HR and RBI (66) and his total of 76 on the season ranked 5th in the International League...Produced a .568 SLG vs. LHP in International League...On May 12, hit a grand slam and totalled 5RBI vs. NOR...After being claimed on waivers by Toronto, hit in 12 of 13 games with Buffalo.
